This KraftGeek Capsule Music Stand Review covers the relatively new product to the music world and is probably the coolest stand on the market.

KraftGeek Capsule Music Stand Review - KraftGeek did send Clarinet-Now.com the product to review and sent the whole package: Music Stand, Lumi Light, Flexy Mount, and Case. On the marketplace you can buy either the full-package or the accessories separately. If you were to purchase this stand through any of the product links, Clarinet-Now would receive a small affiliate payment.
The versatility of this stand for the modern, “smart-phone,” musician is a highlight, but the beautiful design and portability brings a breath of fresh air to the ancient, real-world need of reading music sheets.
The stand comes in black or white (or officially Platinum). Its modern design folds down nicely for compact use and has a carrying case. The bottom of the stand includes a locking feature for the legs. The stand top folds out as normal, but the stand wings to hold the sheet music is unique.

The base of the sheet music head or top folds outward and down and includes non-slip grips to help keep music from opening involuntarily. The top of the sheet-music head folds upward and out and the center bars rotate to create a more solid, middle section to hold the music. This middle bars also pull out and have transparent clips on the right and left to clip down the sheet music. These clips will accommodate standard sheet music or method books, but not thick books or large band/orchestra folders. You can still place these on the stand, but the clips will not work for them.
Depending on your usage, the stand can be as low as 29 inches (74 cm) and raise up to 66 inches (168cm). I do say that on the lengthier heights, the stand is sort of wobbly. Also, for these heights, I’m not certain how stable the stand would be for outdoor wind or for a big, heavy book of music. On the practical side it would be rare to need the stand at a 66-inch height. Weight limits for the stand are 4.4 pounds. If you are playing 4.4 pounds of music, that is one LONG gig.
There are two screw assemblies below the music stand platform (on the base) and on top of the music stand allowing for the Flexy Mount and the Lumi Light. Both places have the standard ¼ inch screw size that you would find on camera tripod and on the bottom of cameras.
The Flexy Mount can be screwed into the lower hole or top hole on the stand based on how you would wish to use it. Musicians often have metronome or tuner applications on their phones and instead of placing the phone on a separate table, in your pocket, or on the stand head (in front of your sheet music), you have the Flexy Mount to screw onto the stand and it adjusts for basic smart phones in both portrait and landscape mode, and it also expands for small iPads or other tablets. This is useful for those metronome/tuner apps as well as playing with YouTube videos or watching tutorials.
If, for any reason, you need to look up at your phone while practicing or performing, you can screw the Flexy Mount to the top of the stand. Maybe you are watching a virtual conductor or just eyeing your tuning from the top.
Other functions whether you use the Flexy Mount on the top or bottom include virtual lessons (teaching or being taught) or filming those YouTube and TikTok videos.
If you have had the experience trying to clip-on a music light to a folding stand, Kraftgeek has that answer. The top screw assembly is designed for is the Lumi Light. This is one of the cooler features of the overall Kraftgeek Capsule Music Stand.
The light screws onto the top, has two light brightness options, and even has a USB-C port to power the light (a power cord or plug-in is not included). This light does use AA batteries (not included).
To my surprise, and after I went hunting for a tiny Phillips head screwdriver to add the batteries, the case had a tiny Phillips head screwdriver included. I’m not certain how this works if you buy the Lumi Light separately, maybe the screwdriver comes in that kit. But, if you are off to the pit to play a musical or are doing a night-time gig outside, this light is here to serve.
This case has a shoulder strap and compartments on the inside to hold the Flexy Mount and the Lumi Light. As I mentioned before, the case had a delightful insertion of a tiny Phillips head screwdriver (for battery assembly on the Lumi Light).
The following are industry awards showing the versatility and design of the Capsule Music Stand.
NAMM 2024 “Best in Show” award winner. If you are not familiar with NAMM, this is the National Association of Music Merchants and each year this organization holds a conference and reviews the latest and greatest additions to gear in the music world. This nod to the Kraftgeek Music Capsule stand is such an honor.
The stand has also received accolades from the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) Design Store, though it is not available to purchase through this avenue.
I looked up iF and Dot Design awards. If you look up specifically Kraftgeek Music Capsule Stand, it will not come up, but perhaps the design’s original name of SoSleek Music Stand received the award before the updated name.
Another cool “feather in the cap” is the Kraftgeek Music Capsule stand toured with the Piano Guys in 2024.
I will say this is the COOLEST MUSIC STAND ON THE MARKET! Having the Flexy Mount (for phones or tablets) and the Lumi Light capabilities are the highlights of this amazing stand. At its tallest length the stand is a little wobbly but is super solid at lower levels.
KraftGeek also offers a host of other products from phone tripods to art easels and projectors stands.
